Returning the clay to the earth (11.08.1

Earth To Earth: Central Saint Martins, King's Cross, London (August 2019)

I deemed it fitting to return the unclaimed wild clay sculptures - made by participants during my degree show project in May - back to the ground from where they came.

The clay was originally dug up and processed by me in the three cities I live in: London, Leeds and Truro then used by participants during the show in my Cob Cave. I offered to return each one to their owner after I had dried, sealed and cared for them, though some were left unclaimed.

The flower beds outside Central Saint Martins and the House of Illustration seemed an appropriate location for the wild clay to be washed back into the earth by the rain, or taken by passers-by.
